Ok June has been pretty sad in the running perspective, but great in the maintenance area.
I ran a little the first week of the month, I did 2 miles on a treadmill each of two day during a business trip - nothing better to clear the mind than running a little bit. I would have run further, but I ran out of time - I had a half hour, but that is how fast I run. Ha. Then I had no reason but laziness for the next two week. On the maintenance side I am doing fine, no weight gain and I feel good. I figure if I can maintain without trying to hard I am doing pretty good.
Now the month is over and we are on the way to an awesome vacation. I am bringing my running shoes, partly because other than my walking sandals they are a better option than the other shoes I have for long walks. The other reason is that my friend Jen has also started running and I really want to check out the paths she has been using. She knows what my hayfields look like - though we weren't actually "using" them back then. Now I want to see what she has available for running and walking.
Since I haven't been doing much lately I won't expect too much of myself, but I love the idea of being able to do something active like that to help compensate for the beer and schnitzel that are coming my way. woo hoo!
