New Adventures in Fitness

I am trying a new way of getting fit, bike riding.

This bike is as old as it may look, but it is my try out version. I am trying some routes that are in my area to see if I can ride them comfortably. I don't really mind casual uphills, but long casual down hills still bother me. I will keep looking and maybe getting more relaxed about the down hills. If I continue to ride I will look into getting something different, but until then it is a good workout.

I got the bike for free from a guy at work and made a few changes. I cleaned and painted, changed the tires, raised the seat, and played with the gears to know how they work. I haven't ever really had a 10 speed before. I had a 3 speed back in the old Minnesota days, so this is something new.

Besides that I actually ran another 5k yesterday. I finished in 37 minutes, which is my average these days. If I worked at it more I would do better, but well... that takes more training than I seem to do. The Pumpkin Run is on November 1st. I want to run the 10k, but I will probably stay with the 5k and try to get a better time. Either way, I need to keep working on losing weight. I have gotten used to being where I am, so it is time for another drop.
Thanks for checking in on me.
